Düsseldorf

Manfred, Fern, Ina, Anne and Carol

Our visit to Düsseldorf started with a trip to the airport.  Fern, an exchange student from a few years back, was returning to Thailand after a return visit. We then parked near the historic Altstadt.

Lots of barges were traveling up and down the Rhine, including the good ship Einstein, carrying coal.

We took turns posing in front of the historic Rathaus (as did Elector Johann Willhelm II).

We wandered through the Altstadt until we came to the open-air market.  So many lovely things were for sale, including delicious raspberries (a treat from Ina).

The moped's weren't for sale, but Ina took the opportunity to gather ideas for a future purchase.

Ina recommended Pfannekuchen for a snack (it's an Alsatian version of pizza).  We then wandered back along the Rhine to our car.
